Visiting Azerbaijan

Whether you are traveling overseas for business, pleasure or study, the best way to ensure a carefree and relaxing trip is to prevent problems before they happen. The more you learn about passports, visas, customs, immunizations, and other travel basics, the less likely you are to have difficulties during your travels.  The American Embassy in Baku is ready and pleased to offer assistance whenever possible. This is your trip. Make it an enjoyable one.

The American Embassy in Baku provides a wide range of services to American citizens in Azerbaijan.  The Consular Section can assist U.S. citizens with matters such as passport renewal and issuance, reports of birth abroad, registration with the Embassy, notarial services, voter assistance, and emergency services.

The Consular Section’s walk-in hours for American Citizens Services are 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, excluding American and Azerbaijani holidays.  American citizens may call, fax, email, stop by during our public hours or make an appointment to receive assistance. Please bring your U.S. passport to gain access to the Consular Section.

Consular duty personnel are also available for emergency assistance after hours and on weekends and holidays.  Call 498-0335/6/7 and ask to speak to a Duty Officer.  To contact the Office of Overseas Citizens Services in the U.S. call 1-888-407-4747 (during business hours) or 202-647-5225/5226 (after hours).
