Register Your Trip

Travel registration is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in, a foreign country.  Registration allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad that the Department of State can use to assist you in case of an emergency.  Americans residing abroad can also get routine information from the U.S. Embassy in Baku.

American citizens who register with the Embassy will become part of our Warden System.  Your name will be given to a volunteer American-citizen “Warden” in your area.  In the event of an emergency, your Warden would contact you to pass on information from the Embassy.  The Embassy also periodically e-mails Warden Messages containing information on local security, health, and other conditions that may be of interest to Americans in Azerbaijan.

Register your trip online through the Department of State’s secure website: https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs.

SMS WARDEN SYSTEM

We are pleased to announce the availability of a new Short Message Service (SMS) alert service for American citizens interested in receiving warden messages and security alerts from the Embassy on mobile phones. The service, which is optional, will run on an SMS system operated by Azercell.

To utilize the service, you must send an SMS message saying WARDEN to phone number 8212. After registering for the service, each subscriber will receive an SMS message confirming their registration with the system. The only cost associated with the service is the initial subscription fee of AZN 1 manat.  This fee is charged to your mobile phone by Azercell when you register your number by sending a SMS message “WARDEN” to 8212.  All subsequent SMS messages from the Embassy will be free of charge.
