2006-2007 HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The Embassy of the United States of America invites applicants for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for the academic year 2006-2007. The Humphrey Fellowship is a one year NON-DEGREE program combining academic and professional development opportunities in the United States. This fellowship program is meant for mid-level professionals in leadership positions working in either the public or private sector.

Eligible fields for the program:

  • Natural resources and environmental management
  • Public policy analysis and public administration
  • Economic development
  • Agricultural development/agricultural economics
  • Economic development
  • Finance and banking
  • Human resource management
  • Urban and regional planning
  • Drug abuse education, treatment, and prevention
  • Public health policy and management
  • Technology policy and management
  • Education
  • Law and human rights
  • Communications/journalism
  • Nonproliferation studies
  • Teaching of English as a foreign language
  • HIV/AIDS policy and prevention
  • Trafficking of persons

Eligibility requirements:

  • Azerbaijani citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least five years of progressive professional experience
  • Potential for leadership in one’s field
  • A commitment to public service in a wide variety of fields
  • English fluency (TOEFL scores no lower than 525/paper based and 195/computer based)

The application deadline is Friday, September 16, 2005.
