THE 2010-2011 FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR PROGRAM
The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 Fulbright Scholar Program. The Fulbright Scholar Program provides grants to qualified Azerbaijani citizens to conduct research at America’s most prestigious universities and institutions of higher learning. The length of grants ranges from three to nine months.

In order to be eligible to apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program, at the time of application the applicant must be:
- a citizen of Azerbaijan;
- in possession of a doctoral degree;
- able to demonstrate a level of English language proficiency that allows one to conduct
advanced scholarly activities in English;
- affiliated with a university, science academy, or research office organization;
- in good health.
The application deadline is Friday, November 20, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. The applications must be submitted online. The application URL is:

2010 EDMUND S. MUSKIE GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Government of the United States of America and IREX (International Research and Exchange Board) are pleased to announce the 2010 Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (Muskie). The deadline to submit the application for this program is November 02, 2009.
The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program, a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, provides opportunities for Master’s level study in the United States to citizens from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in the following fields:
· Business Administration
· Economics
· Education
· Environmental Management
· International Affairs
· Journalism and Mass Communications
· Law
· Library and Information Science
· Public Administration
· Public Health
· Public Policy
Participants are selected through an open, merit-based competition. Fellows will enroll in fulltime academic coursework for up to two years; create and implement a project during the first academic year that benefits the local community; take part in internships following academic coursework.
The fellowship is fully funded and provides:
• J-1 Visa Support
• Round-trip travel from fellow’s home city in Eurasia to host institution in the United States;
• Monthly stipend;
• Accident and sickness insurance;
• Tuition and mandatory university fees;
• Limited allowance for books;
• Pre-academic English language training (if necessary)
• A wide variety of alumni networking and training opportunities.
